Prima shopping
Residential areas are distinguished by excellent shopping opportunities that were established early. In Prima Colonia, the shopping infrastructure is available early on – this is atypical for newly constructed areas – but typical for Prima Colonia.
The Plus market opened at the eastern entrance back in 2007. It supplied old and new Widderdorfer with great success right from the start. This market was then followed by a weekly market in the autumn of 2008, with fresh products from the surrounding countryside and fine Kölsch goods at the InfoCenter’s parking lot.
An impressive solution has been available since the March 2009 opening of the shopping centre at the west entreé – consisting of Edeka Fresh Market, ALDI, DM chemist shop, Nelles bakery, a flower shop, a Sparkasse Cologne/Bonn branch office and a newspaper stand.
Guests will find the Engels family’s Edeka Fresh Market, unmatched in the Cologne metropolitan area and in the region. There are over 40,000 articles available, and the fresh products, fish and wine department was designed in the Mediterranean style of the Jakobsviertel. These offerings have been supplemented by the Nelles bakery – which also has an adjoining bistro. The shopping centre also has an ALDI market and a DM chemist shop with a wide variety of products. Sparkasse Cologne/Bonn has also installed a branch office at the shopping centre to ensure that you have access to your money. The centre ensures that the path to shopping is a short one, not least due to the large parking lot with 365 spaces.
